This Blog is about a beautiful place Kannur(കണ്ണൂർ).Kannur is one among the northernmost districts in the south western state of Kerala in India. The old name 'Cannanore' is the anglicized form of the Malayalam word Kannur. Kannur might have derived its name from one of the the Hindu deity  Kannan (Lord Krishna) and Ur (place) making it the place of Lord Krishna. The deity of the Katalayi Sreekrishna temple was earlier situated in a shrine at Katalayi Kotta in the south eastern part of the Kannur town. 

It is Famous for Tourism , Tradition , vast variety of sea Foods and its culture.

Kannur is located at the coastal area of 'The Arabian sea'. It have many beautiful beaches and drive in beaches.

Asia's longest drive in beach is located in Kannur. Muzhapilangad Drive in beach. there are many other beaches like 'Payyambalam beach, Meenkunnu Beach, Chal beach, kadalayi beach, Thottada beach 'etc are located in the district

Kannur is the Land of Folk arts. There are varieties of religious and non religious art forms. This improves the tourism importance of Kannur to the world. The city itself known as the capital of folk arts.

The main art form of Kannur is 'Theyyam'. It is a combination of History, Myth, Religion and Kalari(a type of martial art) .
